What is Renewable Energy?
Renewable energy is a source of green energy that can never be exhausted or is continually replenished by a natural process, We can obtain renewable energy from the sun using solar energy panels, from water using hydropower technology, from the wind using wind turbines, and even from firewood or bio fuels (Biomass). In 2006, about 18 percent of global energy consumption came from renewable energy, with 13% coming from traditional biomass, like wood-burning. Hydropower was the next largest renewable source, providing 3%, followed by hot water/heating which contributed 1.3%. Renewable energy technologies are quickly becoming the number one choice for businesses and home owners
Climate change concerns, high oil, gas, electricity prices and increasing government support are leading to increasing renewable energy legislation, incentives and commercialization. As part of its drive to cut emissions of carbon dioxide currently demand for renewable energy far outweighs supply. In fact renewable energy only accounts for 4% of the UK’s electricity supply. There's still some way to go to meet the Government’s target of 10% by 2010.
The Energy Saving Company knowledge and experience in the renewable energy market is exceptional, for all interested parties a free consultation is recommended, during this process we would require information such as billing and KWh used to better understand and advise on the way to move forward.

Investing in Renewable Energy - The Process
Before Investing in renewable energy we must assess that this is the most cost effective course of action for you, and that any proposed installations are able to perform at their optimum efficiency, for example, there would be little gained from installing insulation if your building's windows were un-glazed.
We wil:
Firstly, we will assess the the current energy performance of your home by providing an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating the energy efficiency of your property and additionally listing reccomendations of how the rating can be improved and prioritise on the basis of:
(a) the simplest, least costly andf most efferctive e.g. insulation, behavourial changes
(b) measures to be taken/installed when products/installations come to the natural end of their lifecycle e.g. glazing/appliances
Secondly, prepare a full cost analysis of the most effective renewable solution to meet your needs and objectives, and assist in obtaining grants and funding
We will then design, install and commision your installation and issue a further Energy Performance Certificate detailing your new efficiency rating.
